The Oscar Litwak Foundation was created to honor the memory of Oscar Litwak. Oscar passed  away at the young age of 4 after battling cancer for most of his life. Throughout his illness, Oscar spent long periods of time at the hospital where his needs for entertainment, recreation and stimulation were not always adequately met; not due to the lack of interest or kindness from the doctors, nurses, child-life specialists and volunteers who cared for him lovingly and with a great deal of concern, but because a lack of resources available to them.

The goal of the organization is to improve the quality of life of sick children while hospitalized or receiving long term medical care. The Foundation strives to make the child’s stay in the hospital as enjoyable and comfortable as possible through the foundation’s Mobile Playroom Program.

The Oscar Litwak Foundation incorporated in the State of California on October 20, 2003 and was granted tax exempt status from the U.S. Internal Revenue Service as described under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
