Distraction Bags Lift the Spirits of Hospitalized Children!

Four years ago, for my Bat-Mitzvah Chesed project, I chose to support the Oscar Litwak foundation, the non profit organization that my family created in honor of my older brother Oscar who died from cancer when he was 4 years old.

Oscar never got a chance to have a Bar-Mitzvah so I wanted to honor his memory in a special way.

I was able to sponsor a Mobile Playroom that has brought entertainment to kids at UCLA Hospital.

I also had the experience of having spent some time in the hospital as a patient a few years ago, and during the stay I realized how important it was to have some distraction, hospitals are a scary and boring place.

I was lucky that my friends and family visited and kept me occupied, but not everyone is as lucky as I was…

This is why  I ask for your help. Since my hospitalization, I have started and dedicated myself to raise funds to provide Distraction Bags to kids spending time in the hospital, for any reason. The Distraction Bags are filled with different toys and crafts that are  handed to patients when they get admitted to the hospital or when they get to the ER. The materials are age specific and contain things like crayons, markers, sudoku, magazines, uno, playing cards etc.

The cost is $10 and are delivered to local hospitals in California and shipped nationwide.

Would you consider sponsoring some bags and helping me reach my goal of 2,000 bags?

Please make a donation at www.oscarlitwakfoundation.org and specify it is for Distraction Bags project.

Thank you so much for your support!
